PLEASE BE AWARE THE MARC SCREW IS RECOMMENDED TO BE INSTALLED WITH 15 IN LBS. BLUE LOCTITE IS PRE-APPLIED ON THE THREADS, AND MORE LOCTITE IS NOT NEEDED ON THE FIRST INSTALL.
This guide covers the MARC and the MARC II. The two installs are nearly identical. Make sure your rifle is unloaded and clear before you start.
Separate the upper and lower receiver
Remove the pistol grip
Remove the pistol grip screw and take the grip off the lower receiver. Keep the safety detent and spring; you will reuse them.
Take the MARC apart
Your MARC ships assembled. Use the T10 torque key that came with it to take it apart. You should have five parts: a selector, an axle, a lever, the screw and a spring. On an ambi MARC the axle has a selector attached to it.
Insert the axle and lever
Remove the safety selector already in your rifle. With the spring on the axle, push the axle into the empty safety selector hole from the right side of the lower (top-down view, buttstock facing you). Push the axle through the lever so the lever's hook end faces toward you.
Attach the selector and tighten the screw
Fit the selector onto the axle and lever from the left side of the receiver. Insert the screw and tighten it until just past flush, 15 in-lbs. Do not add Loctite; it comes pre-applied. The screw does not need much force.
Reinstall the detent and pistol grip
Put the detent back into the lower receiver and reattach the pistol grip. Check that the detent and the grip screw are seated before you tighten the grip.
Reassemble and function check
The MARC now holds its position on Safe, semi-automatic and the active reset position. Before you reattach the upper, set the safety to semi-automatic, cock the hammer and push the lever forward, as shown.
Reattach the upper and lower. Dry-fire to check function. To dry-fire in the active reset position, pull and hold the trigger while you rack the charging handle.
