Description

An FRD on a carbine buffer usually means bolt bounce. The standard fix is to add buffer weight until the carrier settles, which slows the gun down and costs you reliability at the low end. KAK solved it inside the carrier instead.

The DBC carries a floating weight in its tail. On the return stroke that weight arrives a beat late and lands as a dead blow, killing the bounce that keeps a milspec carrier from locking up clean. You run a standard 3 oz carbine buffer and the FRD still gets the mass it needs.

What you get

  • M16 full-auto profile carrier. Full rail contact and the correct carrier weight, machined from bearing-grade 8620 and finished chrome lined phosphate.
  • 9310 bolt, MPI and shot peened. Machined from one piece, heat treated, precision ground, then inspected. This is the part that fails first on a cheap BCG, and KAK does not cut it.
  • Hydraulically staked gas key. 4130 steel on Grade 8 T25 KAK-marked screws, staked by machine rather than by hand.
  • Drop-in. Fits any standard AR-15 upper. 5.56 NATO, .223 Remington, and 300 Blackout run off the same carrier group.

DBC or K-SPEC?

Both carriers use the same floating weight. The K-SPEC adds downward gas vents that move blowback out through the magwell instead of past your face, which matters once you put a can on the gun.

Model Gas vents Best for
DBC Standard, ejection-port side Unsuppressed builds running an FRD on a carbine buffer
DBC K-SPEC Downward, into the magwell Suppressed builds, or anyone chasing gas to the face
Before you order

Buffer weight is a tuning decision, not a rule. Start at 3 oz with this carrier and confirm function with the ammunition and gas system you actually shoot.
